Royal Mail Driver – Poole, Dorset

Royal Mail are now recruiting for drivers in Dorset Mail Centre, Nuffield Industrial Estate, Poole, BH17 0AA. Job Reference Number 331367.

As the face of Royal Mail you will work as part of a team ensuring we continue to deliver the high standards of service our customers expect. Joining Royal Mail gives you the opportunity to deliver much more than mail and to make a real impact in the heart of your community.

About the Role

As a member of our driving team you will be the public face of Royal Mail and an established part of the community. Much of your day will be spent driving, collecting bulk mail from major customers, Post Offices and transporting mail between our Mail Centres and Delivery offices at prearranged times. Part of the role will be loading and unloading your van and sorting it into correct onward distribution.

About You

Upbeat and self‑motivated, you’ll be happy working alone as well as part of a team. A strong sense of community and a flexible shift pattern appeal. You like working outdoors and keeping fit. Some customer facing experience would be ideal.

Driving Licence Requirements

A C1 Category licence (current UK address) with no more than 6 penalty points is essential, preferably a clean licence. You must have a Periodic Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and hold a valid Drivers Qualification Card (DQC) with 35 hours training, and be able to present a Digital Tachograph Card if selected for assessment.

Pay and Benefits

You will be paid weekly, plus overtime and shift allowance if applicable.

Salary: £627.91 per week pro rata

Hours of work

Permanent: 38.00 hour weeks, Monday – Friday (Full time). Part time: 27.50 hour weeks, Monday – Sunday. All shifts start from 11:00 – 14:00 and end 19:00 – 22:00.
