We are now recruiting Mail Screeners at Glasgow Mail Centre. Do you have excellent observational skills? Are you a good communicator? About the role: You will oversee the receipt and preparation of mail for aircraft departure. You need excellent communication, numerical and writing skills for the purpose of communicating effectively with the police or other government agencies. You'll be expected to maintain concentration as you complete repetitive tasks. You should have excellent observation skills to interrogate mail by profiling and x‑ray screening. You will decipher and evaluate computer screen images so you can identify prohibited and threatening items, including explosives, incendiary and other devices. You will calibrate screening machines to DfT standards and must successfully pass a DfT approved Level E course and an Ishihara colour blindness test.
Pay: £626.40 per week for full time hours, pro rata for part time hours. Part time: 18:00 – 22:00 Monday to Friday. We are looking to offer Permanent.

This role requires you to work in a high security environment. If successful at interview, you can typically expect to have a waiting period of up to 16 weeks while your application goes through our screening process (which includes a requirement for RMG to obtain 5 years referencing).
