With c1750 properties, Royal Mail’s portfolio is one of the largest corporate estates in Europe. Our estate is changing to support more parcel sorting capabilities and automation, the business ‘Steps to Zero’ environmental objectives, whilst continuing to maintain our high standards of safety.
The role is to support the management and analysis of data across the commercial function. The Business Analyst is responsible for the successful delivery of reporting across the Royal Mail Group, predominantly dealing with the waste and recycling contract.
Accountabilities:
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis and reporting across the Royal Mail Group, working within the Commercial and Contract Management Team.
- Monitor trends and improve the data systems for the Commercial and Contract Management Team.
- Improve the presentation of waste data across RMG for better decision making.
- Work with several providers to ensure regular analysis, reporting and identify areas of opportunity to reduce costs.
- Conduct regular UK wide site audits to drive improvement, educate staff and support change.
- Become the subject matter expert on waste data and support RMG in meeting its stated targets for waste reduction.
- Engage stakeholders and build relationships with 3rd party providers to improve the flow of information.
- Participate in wider group discussions to support company-wide strategies and collective objectives.
Location: Remote UK based role, with a requirement to conduct 4-5 site audits per month across the UK. A full UK driving licence is essential due to the travel requirement.
About you: You need to demonstrate the following skills and experience on your CV:
- A Numerate Degree or Relevant Numerate Technical qualifications at or above NVQ level 5 (Essential).
- Demonstrable experience of detailed data handling in a corporate environment.
- Excellence in the use of Excel at an advanced level (essential), Power BI, PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience in using analytical software to mine data and produce reports.
- Strong presentation skills and communication, with the ability to create and deliver effective written reports and verbal presentations.
- Desirable Sector Specific knowledge for waste and recycling management.
- Ability to identify improvement, recommend, initiate and deploy change.
- Skills in working with 3rd parties to obtain, interrogate and query the supply of data.
