We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Test Manager to join our Long Standing Customer Team at Royal London. This is a fantastic opportunity to define and implement the test strategy across complex multi-year change programmes, drive continuous improvements, and shape the future of our testing capability. The position supports Royal London’s mission to enhance the mutual choice for customers.

About the role

  • Define, own and implement the test strategy and vision.
  • Ensure test governance across all programmes and projects is in line with the strategy.
  • Manage internal and third-party test teams, assigning responsibilities and aligning delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Technical Leads, Principal Engineers, Programme Managers and CIOs.
  • Provide comprehensive reporting on testing progress, risks, and issues to senior stakeholders.
  • Champion continuous improvement in testing practices, tools, and automation.
  • Use key test metrics to drive improvements and enhance testing efficiency.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding of test resources, including interim and permanent roles.
  • Line manage permanent test team members and oversee third-party contributors.

About you

  • Proven experience in test management across large-scale programmes, ideally including system migrations and major upgrades.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies and test automation frameworks.
  • A track record of enhancing test capabilities and delivering strategic improvements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience leading diverse test teams across onshore and offshore locations.
  • The ability to work across multiple workstreams and adapt to shifting priorities.
