We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Protection Specialist to join our Specialist Protection Team at Royal London. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the sales function to achieve new business targets through adding value and knowledge to the advisers we deal with. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving, allowing them to effectively put together solutions for Estate Planning and Business Protection. Please note: This role requires regular travel to London and surrounding counties to attend in-person meetings, sometimes at short notice.

About the role

  • Assist in identifying and developing new Corporate, High Net Worth and IHT Protection opportunities for Royal London Intermediaries
  • Create opportunities for sales activity for both Pensions and Protection field and telephone Sales teams.
  • Collaborate with Pensions and Protection Sales teams and other key business influencers (e.g. Propositions) as required
  • Provide specialist training and support to the Royal London sales teams
  • Experienced in delivering face-to-face and webinar activity to both internal and external audiences

About you

The ideal candidate will possess a superior understanding of specialist protection such as inheritance tax planning, business protection and large sum assured, alongside a comprehensive grasp of regulatory requirements.

  • Experience in delivering sales through a consultative approach
  • Full driving license as UK wide travel will be required
  • Good understanding of competitor propositions and distribution strategies
  • A high technical knowledge of corporate protection needs and solutions
  • A good knowledge of relevant business structure and taxation
  • A high knowledge of the basics of inheritance tax and the use of life policies and trusts in IHT planning
  • Diploma level 4 desirable but not essential (RO1 or RO5 qualification required)
