Overview
We currently have opportunities for Programme Directors to join the RLAM Enterprise Projects team on a permanent basis in London.
The Programme Director at RLAM is responsible for overseeing and managing strategic initiatives, ensuring that multiple projects and workstreams align with the company’s investment goals and business strategy. This leadership role involves coordinating resources, managing risks, and ensuring the successful delivery of programmes that build investment propositions, enhance operational RLAMs operating model, or improve the client experience.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Alignment and Programme Shaping
- Align programmes with the firm’s investment objectives, regulatory requirements, and long-term business strategy
- Understand the strategic direction of the organisation and define a transformational programme of work designed to support the execution of that strategy
- Assess the impacts of strategic projects on the operating model (People, Process and Technology and Third Parties), identifying potential synergies or conflicts at an early stage
- Responsible for the oversight of the execution of multiple interrelated projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
- Influence the enterprise project budget elements during the production of the RLAM Business Plan, creating the multi-year portfolio view of the business and technology change items necessary to enable RLAM to achieve strategic goals
- Accountable for ensuring compliance within the RLAM Change methodology framework and all relevant RLG policies
- Track programme progress through KPIs, reporting, and continuous evaluation to ensure optimal outcomes
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with senior executives, Programme managers, risk teams, and external partners to drive programme success
- Influences and negotiates with stakeholders and sponsors to encourage them to participate, take ownership of deliverables and provide input as required
- Risks / Issues / Decisions are appropriately communicated
- People Leadership and Culture
- Develops staff for current and long-term needs to deliver the programme
- Maintain a balance of permanent and contract resources, in line with the programme needs
- Manage direct reports and ensure people leaders manage in line with RLG policies and procedures
- Input into HR initiatives and cyclical activity as required
- Act always within accordance of the SORL values
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience relevant to leading a transformational programme circa £7m+ in value
- Proven accountability for influencing budgets and then managing within them
- Proven advanced stakeholder management skills at all levels of the organisation including board level
- A track record of establishing a programme of work from the bottom up based solely on strategic objectives
- Demonstrable successful implementation experiences relevant to delivery of a strategic programme of work that supports business strategy
- Expert knowledge of wider industry change best practice
- Understanding key business and technology demands and trends within asset management desirable
- Strong facilitation skills and a proven ability to influence to ensure decisions are made in a timely and objective manner, delivering business benefits to realise value and capability improvement
