This role will support Royal London’s Asset Management business by providing strategic legal advice, guidance, and support. About The Role Provide proactive strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders on asset management activities including portfolio management, distribution, rebate arrangements, and related agreements. Draft, review, and negotiate documentation such as investment management agreements, distribution agreements, fund documentation, and outsourcing agreements. Advise on interpretation of laws and regulations impacting RLAM (e.g., MiFID II, UCITS V, AIFMD, AIFMD II). Act as Legal Lead on projects, product development, and fund launches. Identify, manage, and mitigate legal risks, offering pragmatic solutions. Collaborate on cross-organization projects and regulatory initiatives within the Group Legal team. Work with external legal counsel cost-effectively and communicate advice strategically. Partner with the business as delegated by the divisional counsel for specific asset management areas. About You Collaborative, pragmatic asset management solicitor with proven sector experience. Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory issues in investment management, gained in law firms or in-house roles. Proactive, taking ownership and providing commercial legal solutions in a fast-paced environment. Solid understanding of corporate governance, FCA/PRA regulations, and their impact. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement at all levels.
