Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Assurance Analyst to join the COO Business Operations Team at Royal London. The successful candidate will support the embedding and operation of effective IT control and risk management environment across the Group Technology & Shared Services function.
About the role
- Support control owners in Group Technology & Shared Services in completing their assessments in line with Group framework requirements and processes, including RCSA, FRDCF and policy attestations
- Monitor exceptions identified through attestation processes, Group Internal Audits or through BAU risk and control management and support accountable owners in remediating those exceptions in a timely manner.
- Regularly meet with risk, control, risk event, finding and action owners within Group Technology & Shared Services and support them in establishing an understanding of their responsibilities, driving ownership and ensuring timely action is taken where required.
- Support the IT Assurance Manager in gathering and obtaining evidence and arranging meetings in support of internal and external auditor activity.
- Work alongside the IT Assurance Manager to analyse and report on local risk and control data for / to the Chief Technology & Shared Services Officer (and other members of the leadership team as required) for reporting to risk meetings, and flag any thematic issues identified.
- Support members of the Group Technology & Shared Services function to operate an effective finding / deficiency remediation process and supporting the owners and identifiers in following this process. Monitor and report on exceptions to the process for Group Technology & Shared Services.
- Provide risk and control overviews to new risk and control owners within Group Technology & Shared Services to establish a baseline expectation of risk, control and finding accountabilities for permanent, contract and third-party workers.
- Support line managers within Group Technology & Shared Services to embed risk and control awareness and a positive risk management culture in their teams.
- Attend the Archer user group and input recommendations/requests as appropriate to support Group Technology & Shared Services
- Liaise closely with Risk & Compliance and Group Internal Audit to ensure frameworks are well understood and specific processes/framework requirements are communicated within Group Technology & Shared Services.
About you
- Good understanding of operating risk management frameworks and processes and procedures
- Experience in monitoring risks and controls and identifying gaps and tracking actions, preferably in the technology sector
- Experience in managing and recording risks and controls in an online system
- Experience in identifying audit gaps, communicating audit findings an understanding what ‘good’ looks like in terms of controls
- Experience working with senior leadership teams
- Ability to work within IT risk management frameworks
- Good knowledge of governance processes
