We currently have an opportunity for a Business Resilience Lead to join Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) Operations Business Resilience on an 18-month contract in London. RLAM Business Resilience includes operational resilience, business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident management.

Working closely with local important business services (IBS) Owners and other Royal London Group (RLG) Business Resilience Leads, you will be responsible for the ongoing design and implementation of IBS resilience within the RLAM Group, ensuring this meets the RLG resilience strategy, framework, and governance standards. You will help ensure that the IBS provided by the RLAM Group to its customers are resilient to incidents, can recover quickly from disruptions, and are set up to mitigate external customer harm.

The Business Resilience Lead will represent the RLAM Group at the RLG Resilience Forum and work closely with the RLG Resilience Management Office to report on IBS resilience activities. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established business resilience model as a subject matter expert and partner with local IBS owners on continuous improvement and resilience maturity.

About the role
  • Ensure appropriate support and capabilities for IBS resilience activities across the RLAM Group.
  • Oversee IBS Resilience through mechanisms such as Resilience Reviews.
  • Identify, document, and manage threats to business activities.
  • Engage in investment decision discussions impacting IBS provision.
  • Design and lead scenario tests to assess impact tolerance and vulnerabilities.
  • Manage the RLAM Group Incident Management response to operational disruptions, deputising for the RLAM IMT Chair, and engaging with the RLG Major Incident Command Centre (MICC).
  • Maintain resilience documentation on the RLAM Resilience SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with other RLG Business Resilience Leads to ensure end-to-end service resilience and proper escalation of issues.

  • Strong knowledge of financial services, especially asset management, and relevant regulations.
  • Expertise in business service resilience, continuity planning, IT disaster recovery, and crisis management.
  • Proficient in designing resilience strategies and embedding them operationally.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all levels.
  • Deep understanding of business structures and principles.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented mindset with decisiveness and delegation skills.
