We are currently looking for an Assurance Consultant to join us on a permanent basis in either our Alderley Edge or Edinburgh office.

Joining the team as an Assurance Consultant offers the ideal opportunity for colleagues who want to build their career in Royal London’s second line of defence, based in the Group Risk and Compliance (GR&C) function. The role offers the successful applicant the benefit of gaining insight and exposure to business areas throughout our UK business. You will play a key role in securing the best outcomes and experiences for our customers and members by providing trusted assurance, advice and guidance to the business and board.

While regulation and risk management knowledge would be ideal, it is not essential as the team will provide training. You will also benefit from receiving support and guidance from a team of highly experienced risk and compliance professionals. Therefore, they seek applicants who can demonstrate that they have the right skills to join this highly motivated and dynamic team.

This is a vital position in our organisation, as it will require you to monitor and evaluate all key operations and processes, identifying any potential risks or areas for improvement. Additionally, you will provide guidance and recommendations to management on how to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

About the role

  • Complete assurance activity on all RLMIS UK business areas to establish compliance with key regulatory or risk requirements.
  • Provide a good quality of reports to the business which clearly articulate the results of your reviews.
  • Review and assess the impact of key management and outsourcer management information in relation to regulated activity on assurance plans and take appropriate action where weaknesses are identified.
  • Be an interactive member of theRisk and Compliance Assuranceteam.

About you

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong presentation and written skills required.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Keen interest in risk and regulation.
