We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Tax Manager in the Group Tax team. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead the provision of strategic tax support to our Asset Management division. You will be responsible for all tax matters relating to the funds managed by Royal London and will enjoy exposure to all of the Group\’s investment activity. This position offers the chance to work on high-impact projects and make a significant contribution to our business.
About the Role:
- Act as the primary tax advisor for the Asset Management business, serving as the main point of contact for senior management, boards, committees, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Lead and oversee tax compliance activities, including UK fund corporation tax, withholding tax, non-resident capital gains tax, and investor tax obligations. This includes managing third-party providers and working closely with fund administrators, custodians, and transfer agents.
- Provide expert UK and international tax advice on new investment structures, operational entities, and strategic initiatives, particularly in relation to property and private asset strategies. Ensure alignment with Royal London\’s Tax Strategy and commercial objectives.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks, ensuring full compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Engage and collaborate with external advisors, offering informed challenge and oversight to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation, assess their impact on the business, and communicate implications to stakeholders. You will also represent Royal London in industry forums and consultation processes.
Support the development and mentoring of tax team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
About You:
- Proven experience in a senior tax management role, preferably within the asset management or financial services industry. Experience of Real Estate transactions desirable.
- Strong knowledge of UK tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively to non-tax professionals.
- Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to proactively and constructively challenge colleagues and third party providers and advisers.
- Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
