We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Royal London. As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing technical skills to help our teams design, develop, test, and implement efficient solutions that meet business and customer requirements.

The successful candidate will have a real impact on how Royal London develops our applications. You will be given the opportunity to grow your career within a team focused on promoting internal career progression. This role is focused on evolving the technology stack supporting our Protection products and customers.

This role contributes to our purpose of strengthening the mutual choice for our customers, by providing the best technology solutions to our customers.

About the role

  • You will be working in a technology stack which primarily includes Angular SPAs, .NET Web APIs, and SQL Databases.
  • Participate in the development of technical solutions, managing your own workload.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to other software developers, proactively and reactively.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all code meets Royal London Group standards, guidelines, and quality gates for given technology.
  • Encourage close collaboration with other disciplines within the team.
  • Take an active role in the transfer of knowledge and sharing of experiences relating to your area of technical expertise at practice level.

About you

  • You will have hands-on development experience in .Net and Angular, successfully delivering and leading change on complex applications.
  • Enterprise experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Desire to support the wider team and collaborate with stakeholders across the business.
  • Able to communicate at all levels in an engaging and collaborative manner.
  • Keen to continue to develop technical skills in ever-emerging technology stacks.
