Contract Type: Permanent - 37.5 hours per week

Location: Edinburgh or Remote

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based or home based

We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as a Claims Assessor to enhance our customer service and ensure quick and sensitive resolution of claims.

About the role

  • Assess claims and look for ways to pay them as effectively as possible to fulfil our customer commitment.
  • View each claim with an independent mind and consider them on their own merits in line with our philosophy and standards.
  • Keep the customer updated at all stages of the claims process using their preferred communication method.
  • Request the minimum amount of medical evidence required to make an effective decision.
  • Own a customer claim from start to finish, ensuring a friendly and efficient service.
  • Liaise and obtain agreement from re-assurers on assessment decisions, while maintaining a good professional relationship.

About you

  • Current Claims Authority Limit across a range of Individual Protection Products, including Death, CI, TI, and IP.
  • Understanding of the intermediary market and the demands/relationships with customers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to empathise with customers.
  • Proactive and curious attitude, with the ability to identify and address inefficiencies.
  • Ability to build relationships with our customers through predominantly phone-based communication.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and treat team members with respect.
