Royal Lions Football Club is dedicated to raising the standard of grassroots football on and off the pitch. Driven by our ‘Freedom Through Football’ philosophy, we empower young players to express themselves, build confidence, and reach their full potential in a supportive, high-standards environment.
We are expanding and looking for passionate coaches to join our project in Barking. Whether you are an experienced coach looking for a platform to showcase your skillset or someone at the start of your coaching journey with the right character and drive, we have space for you.
The Roles
We are currently recruiting for Lead Coaches (to take ownership of specific youth age groups) as well as Support Coaches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality training using the official Royal Lions curriculum as your framework.
- Proactive Coaching: Bring innovation, high energy, and fresh ideas to sessions both on and off the pitch.
- Session & Matchday Delivery: Lead or assist during Saturday morning training and Sunday matchdays (where applicable).
- Group & Player Administration: Manage basic team admin for your squad, including player registrations and overseeing team group chats with parents and players.
- Player Development: Mentor young players to build their technical skills, tactical awareness, and confidence in a positive environment.

Experienced Coaches

Strong communication and basic organisational skills to handle parent communication and team admin effectively.
Availability
Direct availability for Saturday training sessions and Sunday fixtures in East London (if a lead team coach).
