Key Responsibilities

  • Operating EDM machinery to produce precision components.
  • Setting and operating EDM machines safely and efficiently.
  • Loading and unloading components.
  • Following engineering drawings, CNC programmes and work instructions.
  • Setting tooling, workholding and machine parameters where required.
  • Monitoring machining processes and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Carrying out dimensional and visual inspection of components.
  • Using precision measuring equipment to ensure components meet specification.
  • Identifying and reporting quality or machining issues.
  • Working to tight tolerances and aerospace quality standards.
  • Maintaining accurate production and quality records.
  • Working efficiently to meet production requirements without compromising quality.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

About You

We are looking for an experienced EDM Operator with a strong understanding of precision machining and a quality-focused approach.

  • Previous experience operating EDM machinery.
  • Makino EDM experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience with other EDM machines will be considered.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • A good understanding of machining processes.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A quality-focused approach.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a skilled manufacturing team.
  • Aerospace or precision engineering experience would be advantageous.
