Key Responsibilities
- Operating EDM machinery to produce precision components.
- Setting and operating EDM machines safely and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading components.
- Following engineering drawings, CNC programmes and work instructions.
- Setting tooling, workholding and machine parameters where required.
- Monitoring machining processes and making adjustments as necessary.
- Carrying out dimensional and visual inspection of components.
- Using precision measuring equipment to ensure components meet specification.
- Identifying and reporting quality or machining issues.
- Working to tight tolerances and aerospace quality standards.
- Maintaining accurate production and quality records.
- Working efficiently to meet production requirements without compromising quality.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
About You
We are looking for an experienced EDM Operator with a strong understanding of precision machining and a quality-focused approach.
- Previous experience operating EDM machinery.
- Makino EDM experience would be highly advantageous.
- Experience with other EDM machines will be considered.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working to tight tolerances.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- A good understanding of machining processes.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A quality-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a skilled manufacturing team.
- Aerospace or precision engineering experience would be advantageous.
