Accountabilities and Deliverables
- Food Preparation & Service
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your designated section to consistently high standards.
- Ensure all dishes are produced in accordance with established recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines.
- Perform effectively under pressure, maintaining quality and efficiency during busy service periods.
- Section Management
- Take responsibility for the smooth operation and organisation of your assigned section during service.
- Provide support across other sections of the kitchen as required, contributing to overall team efficiency.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared and ready for delivery to the dining room/function at the agreed time.
- Hygiene & Compliance
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and organisation within your work area and support the cleaning of other areas if required including any removal of rubbish.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations, including HACCP procedures.
- Stock Control & Kitchen Operations
- Assist in the effective management of stock, including rotation (FIFO) and waste minimisation.
- Support ordering processes and inventory control to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Assist in the checking in of deliveries and storage of goods.
Knowledge and experience
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie.
- Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to different sections.
- NVQ Level 2 (preferred).
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
