Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities

As a Regulatory Governance Executive, you'll play an important part in supporting how RICS delivers trusted and effective regulation across the built and natural environments. You'll work closely with the Standards and Regulation Board (SRB), the independent body that oversees RICS' regulatory, standards and education functions to protect the public interest. You'll support the SRB and its sub-groups by providing high-quality governance and administrative assistance that helps ensure confident decision making, smooth operations and meaningful regulatory outcomes. This is a varied role where no two days feel the same. You'll coordinate meetings, support international events, prepare governance materials and work with senior professionals across the globe. You'll also contribute to ongoing improvements in how we work, including exploring how emerging digital tools - such as AI - can enhance governance and efficiency. This is a hybrid role in line with RICS' Dynamic Working Policy, with 60% of working time in the office (London or Birmingham). Occasional international travel may be required.

  • Support the SRB and its sub-groups by preparing agendas and papers, taking minutes, tracking actions and helping meetings run smoothly.
  • Maintain and update governance documents, forward planners and records with accuracy and care.
  • Prepare clear, professional correspondence, including communication with senior stakeholders and government contacts.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops and events, including supporting the annual SRB meeting and providing on-site support.
  • Organise travel and accommodation for SRB members and international participants, and process expenses and invoices promptly.
  • Support recruitment for SRB roles by coordinating interviews, preparing documentation, communicating with candidates and assisting with checks and references.
  • Use Microsoft 365 tools confidently to manage workflows, collaborate with colleagues and support virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Participate in system testing and the adoption of new tools or technology, offering feedback and helping colleagues adapt.
  • Bring curiosity about emerging digital tools, including AI, and how they might improve governance processes.

About You

You enjoy supporting people and keeping processes running smoothly. Calm, organised and practical, you work well with a wide range of stakeholders and stay focused even when things get busy. You're curious about how technology can make work easier and more effective, and you like contributing ideas that support continuous improvement. You'll bring the confidence and professional presence needed to work with senior stakeholders, supporting them effectively while helping meetings and governance activity run well. You bring strong communication skills, attention to detail and experience coordinating meetings or handling varied administrative tasks. You're confident using Microsoft 365, comfortable working with deadlines and able to build positive working relationships. You take a proactive approach to solving problems and understand the importance of working sensitively and inclusively with others.

  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Well developed administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 and supporting virtual meetings.
  • Experience coordinating meetings or managing logistics involving multiple stakeholders.
  • A proactive, customer focused approach with the ability to work calmly under pressure.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting governance forums, boards or committees, including working across multiple time zones.
  • Exposure to introducing or supporting new systems, tools or ways of working - with an interest in how digital tools and AI can enable smarter, more efficient outcomes.
