About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and experienced Project Manager to join the team working on RIBA’s House of Architecture Programme.
The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in realising RIBA’s bold vision to create a new, purpose-built home for the world-class RIBA Collection. Acting on behalf of the Lead Sponsor, this role will manage the development of a collections centre from concept to delivery – ensuring it meets user needs, achieves strategic goals, and embodies RIBA’s commitment to sustainability, access, and design excellence.
What are we looking for?
Essential
- Applied knowledge of architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
- Significant experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams of consultants with the ability to influence and motivate.
- Knowledge of budget management, financial tracking and cost control experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience and successful track record in managing and delivering cross- organisational projects.
- Knowledge of current best practice in relation to collection display and storage.
- Significant experience of project management on a high-profile capital development project.
- Proficiency in project management tools for scheduling, budgeting, and document management.
- Experience in the museum/heritage sector.

The House of Architecture Programme (HOAP) is a transformation programme that encompasses the renovation of 66 Portland Place, the creation of a new home for its world class collection, the associated organisational transition during and after construction, and the digital transformation of IT infrastructure and fundraising ambitions.
The role is an exciting opportunity to play an early and crucial role in an major project to create a purpose-built home for our collections, unlocking opportunities for access, research and preservation, a Museum of Architecture.
