Salary: £48,000 – £52,000 per annum, based upon experience and location

Location: London/Hybrid

Hours: 35 hours per week, full-time 12-months fixed term contract

About the Role

As RIBA’s first Content Designer, you will be the organisation’s expert on content design, championing the user in the transition to our new flagship website. Working at a senior level, you will create user journeys and meet user needs with accessible, engaging, and exemplary content. You will upskill RIBA’s content-makers and bring the content strategy to life as part of an exciting programme of work.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Demonstrate senior-level experience in content design, having successfully worked on multiple high-impact projects and upskilled teams.
  • Be an expert negotiator and influencer, skilled at building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, digital partners, and contractors.
  • Have a proven ability to introduce new concepts and ways of working, securing buy-in across the organisation.
  • Lead and direct content audit and migration projects, including directing the work of a small project group.
  • Possess extensive experience in working with a range of different CMS (Content Management Systems) and making content within the parameters of the components.
  • Have a leadership role in at least one website redesign project, showcasing strategic and hands-on involvement.
  • Introduce and embed an agile approach to content creation, coaching and empowering content makers across the organisation to transform the way they work.
  • Collaborate with the Content team to identify gaps, manage the process of creating new content, optimise existing content, and manage the creation of new content.
  • Be an advocate for accessibility in digital design and content, and have a proven commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Be an excellent copywriter who understands the importance of writing in plain English, having successfully trialed a range of approaches such as pair writing, and be a grammar pedant.
  • Be comfortable sharing work early with colleagues and users, and negotiating changes based on discussion and feedback.
