The role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Control Engineer to lead our Service Control Engineers. The successful candidate will manage a team of Control Engineers in providing Technical Support & aftersales care for RIHC’s products in the Offshore Energy sector; ensuring clients’ needs are met in a professional & timely manner.
You will be responsible for:
- Leadership and development of a small team of Control Engineers.
- Providing Technical support, Investigation and resolution of Control System related issues across a wide range of RIHC products.
- Implementing upgrades and updates to existing RIHC equipment.
- Ensuring customers are well supported in their service needs and technical issues are resolved quickly and efficiently to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Efficient Management & Prioritisation of workload for the Engineers.
- Delivering a high standard of work in line with our Software quality control procedures.
Job requirements:
- Strong engineering background with a thorough technical knowledge of Control, Automation and Safety Systems and equipment.
- Appropriate Computer/Engineering related qualification (degree/HND) or comparable industrial experience.
- Experience in: Design of control & automation systems, Programming of PLC, HMI & SCADA systems, Commissioning, Testing and Client Support of industrial control systems, Involvement throughout the whole project lifecycle, from design through coding to testing, installation and documentation.
- Management & Development of a small team of Engineers.
- Working for clients in the marine, subsea, oil & gas and renewables market.
- Recent experience of a similar role in a bespoke engineering environment / providing service support.
- Role requires a mixture of working from RIHC’s Port of Blyth facility and other client sites / vessels around the world.
- Experience of working to ISO9001 or equivalent in a project based organisation.
- A high level of competence with IT systems and tools.
- Experience of Siemens TIA Portal / Unified (preferred).
- Experience of Rockwell or Mitsubishi platforms.
- Experience of configuring & commissioning Variable Speed Drives (Siemens, Nidec & ABB).
- Previous experience within the Marine / Offshore / Subsea environment.
- Knowledge & experience of relevant functional safety standards (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC13849).
