We have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Technician to join our offshore product market group. As an Electrical Technician you will inspect, assemble, test and pre-commission assemblies and sub-assemblies and installations as required to meet project delivery.

You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out the build and wiring of Control Panels, JBs, Pods etc. on a day-to-day basis liaising with the Senior Electrical Construction Engineer and relevant project contacts as necessary.
  • Inspecting and testing Control Panels, JBs, Pods etc. as defined in specific FAT procedures. Recording results.
  • Checking parts for assembly are available from stores and identifying any shortages.
  • Reviewing tooling requirements for specific project(s).
  • Carrying out electrical installation, repair and maintenance works for workshop and offices.
  • Ensuring correct certification is in place for electrical testing prior to undertaking works.
  • Carrying out pre-commissioning checks in accordance with approved documents and correct supervision.
  • Being responsible for specific build and test documentation (for project) and handing over to Senior Electrical Construction Engineer.
  • Working with Senior Electrical Construction Engineer or Electrical Design Engineer to fault find/troubleshoot problems with assembled equipment (Control Panels, JBs etc).
  • Reviewing progress for assembly work scopes on a weekly basis with the Senior Electrical Construction Engineer, highlighting areas of concern.
  • Identifying and raising with Senior Electrical Construction Engineer workshop hazards and precautions on specific project activities.
  • Carrying out duties in a safe and professional manner.
  • Reviewing specific electrical/assembly drawings with Senior Electrical Construction Engineer and discussing and agreeing any changes required.
  • Being responsible for care and return of tools.
  • Identifying and raising with Supervisor risk assessment (workshop hazards and precautions) for specific activities.
  • Positively complying with all HSE requirements and participating in identifying and raising HSE concerns by use of systems such as SHARP cards, Near Miss Reports, etc.
  • Supporting a continuous improvement culture; ensuring that issues are identified and logged by use of company tools such as non-conformance reporting, lessons learnt etc.
  • May be required to travel and work nationally and internationally as required to meet the needs of the business, including offshore works.
  • Any other duties as directed by line management or MT member.

Qualifications:

  • Time served in relevant trade.
  • Certified to operate workshop plant and machinery.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the current building and electrical Regulations.

Experience:

  • Experience of heavy engineering environment.
  • Electrical installation.
  • Electrical testing.

Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, as required by the role.
  • A flexible approach in order to work shifts as required to meet project deadlines.
  • IT competent.
