Base pay range: Β£30,601 with the potential to increase as part of the Curatorial Career Progression Framework.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 (circa 5-6 weekends per year).

Contract type: Full time permanent with flexible working arrangements considered.

Overview of the Role:

As the Team Leader for Production, you will manage the day-to-day running of the Nursery, with its diverse range of plants, and manage our production team, which includes our Global Growth Vegetable Garden. The Nursery is responsible for providing approximately 4500 plants raised from cuttings and over 5000 plants raised from seed, including tender/hardy annuals and perennials, trees, and shrubs.

We are also responsible for 3 national collections including Viburnum, Colchicum, and Pelargonium for which the Nursery plays a vital role.

You will need to be a good team player but also be responsible and capable of lone working. An in-depth knowledge of propagation techniques for a wide range of plants is essential for this role, as is experience in people management, organisation, and pest/disease knowledge.

You should have an RHS Diploma in Practical Horticulture, HNC in Plant Skills, Foundation Degree in Horticulture, Kew/Edinburgh Diploma, plus a guideline of three years’ practical experience in a Nursery setting ideally with some supervisory responsibilities. Commensurate experience, in lieu of qualifications, will be considered provided the criteria can still be met.
