We are looking to recruit a Creative Ground Programme Manager to lead an ambitious new learning programme as part of a partnership between RHS and Tate Britain. Based within the new Clore Garden Classroom at Tate Britain, this exciting new role will combine horticulture, nature and creativity to create inspiring learning experiences for children and young people.

Creative Ground is a partnership between the RHS and Tate Britain, generously supported by the Clore Duffield Foundation.

About the Role

As Creative Ground Programme Manager, you will:

  • Lead the launch, delivery and ongoing development of a flagship RHS and Tate Britain learning programme ‘Creative Ground’, ensuring a high-quality, inclusive and innovative learner experience.
  • Build and manage meaningful partnerships with schools and youth groups creating long-term engagement opportunities that extend beyond individual visits.
  • Line manage and support a dedicated delivery colleague, fostering a culture of reflective practice, learning and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with RHS and Tate colleagues to develop engaging learning experiences that explore the powerful connections between gardening, nature and the arts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across RHS and Tate Britain, fostering collaboration and supporting successful programme delivery.
  • Monitor programme quality, impact and outcomes, using evaluation and insight to inform future development and meet funder requirements.
  • Champion inclusion, accessibility and safeguarding, ensuring opportunities are welcoming and relevant to diverse audiences, including children and young people with SEND.

About you

We're looking for someone with experience managing education, learning or public engagement programmes within a cultural, heritage, environmental or visitor-facing setting. You will understand and champion how meaningful learning experiences can support the development of practical skills, confidence and knowledge, particularly through outdoor learning, gardening and creative exploration.

You'll be a skilled relationship builder, confident working across organisations and sectors, and passionate about designing and delivering enriching experiences for children and young people. You'll also be excited by the opportunity to help shape and develop a pioneering new programme, using insight, reflection and collaboration to evolve its approach over time.

Experience of working with schools and youth organisations is essential. Experience of collaborating with artists, creative practitioners, cultural organisations or delivering cultural learning programmes would be particularly valuable, as would experience of outdoor learning, environmental education, horticulture or nature-based learning.

This is an exciting opportunity to help establish the RHS's first long-term educational programme in central London and shape a nationally significant partnership between two leading cultural organisations. Working at the intersection of horticulture, art, and learning, the Creative Ground Programme Manager will play a key role in developing an innovative model with the potential to influence future practice across the cultural, environmental and education sectors.
