An exciting opportunity for a Deputy Show Manager to join the Shows Department at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). The team is responsible for delivering some of the UK’s most prestigious and inspiring outdoor gardening events including the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and RHS Badminton Flower Show. These large-scale events celebrate the beauty, creativity and innovation within the world of horticulture and gardening. The Deputy Show Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the content and experience of these events – offering a day out that’s unforgettable and inspiring for visitors.
This is a key position responsible for the management, curation and sourcing of content for one of the RHS’s flagship outdoor gardening shows. You will work closely with exhibitors, designers, contractors and internal teams to bring each show to life – on time, on budget and to an exceptional standard. The successful candidate will be immediately involved in the delivery of RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Please note that the candidate role requires temporary relocation to the show’s location for around 5 weeks (accommodation and expenses provided).
Key Responsibilities- Curate and manage content for designated RHS shows
- Collaborate with exhibitors, designers and stakeholders to ensure high‑quality show features
- Support the Show Manager with logistics, budgeting and operational planning
- Lead on specific areas of the show as delegated
- Liaise with internal departments (marketing, press, horticultural, operations)
- Manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Ensure the creative vision and horticultural integrity of each event
We are looking for a self‑motivated, organised, and creative individual who brings a passion for events and horticulture. You’ll need to thrive under pressure, work well in a team and be confident dealing with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in content creation, event planning and / or project management
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines
- Creative flair and attention to detail
- Knowledge or awareness of the horticultural industry (or a related field)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work away from home for event periods
- Familiarity with RHS shows or similar public facing exhibition
