Voluntary role – Variable Hours, Permanent
Applications are invited for the voluntary role of Associate Hindu Chaplain working within the Directorate of Student Life at Royal Holloway University of London. The Associate Hindu Chaplain will work collaboratively and supportively within the University Chaplaincy Team – a well-supported interfaith staff team made up of Anglican, Catholic, Muslim and Jewish Chaplains and a Co-ordinator. Collectively they work with other faith groups and student faith societies to benefit student and staff life on campus.
Responsibilities and expectations
- Work collaboratively within the University Chaplaincy Team to develop Hindu faith and worship on campus.
- Offer pastoral care and be a strong, visible, and unifying presence on campus.
- Build and foster a healthy community through outreach activity and engagement with student faith societies.
- Demonstrate a commitment to cooperative, constructive, and positive dialogue with other faiths.
- Contribute to an inclusive campus environment by upholding equality and community harmony.
What we are looking for
- A practicing Hindu belonging to a worshipping community (occupational requirement).
- Commitment to equality and inclusivity.
- Experience of innovatively and openly working with other faiths and an understanding of the diversity of the university community.
