Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality support to the resident and families, work with other members of the interdisciplinary team, and ensure that residents receive the best possible treatment in a variety of settings, including long term care, sub-acute care, and memory care. This role requires strong skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to resident-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for greeting visitors and guests to our facility, including maintaining the Visitor's Log and checking in vendors or other service providers.
- Receive and follow reception schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established policies and procedures.
- Answer telephone, determine nature of call and direct caller to appropriate individual or department.
- Receive requests from within the facility and locate personnel through paging system.
- Maintain a current file/listing of residents by name and room number, emergency phone members of on-call personnel, department extensions, key personnel, etc.
- Maintain a current listing of critical residents and/or residents who may not receive phone calls due to their condition.
- Greet visitors. Direct to appropriate office and/or resident room.
- Ensure guests/visitors abide by existing rules and refuse admission to persons as directed.
- Assist with administrative duties as directed. (Includes typing, filing, posting accounts, etc.)
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail as directed.
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in long-term care or other healthcare setting is a plus.
- Detail oriented with excellent follow up skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of office technology.
- Comfortability with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn new software programs.
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility.
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding employee, resident and company proprietary information.
- Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels.
- Must possess computer skills of the types and at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
