About the Role

As a Senior Youth & Family Practitioner, you will take a lead role in supporting children and families through evidence-based, trauma-informed and systemic practice. You will act as a Lead Practitioner for Family Help cases, undertake complex assessments, coordinate multi-agency support and deliver targeted interventions that improve outcomes for children and young people.

The role also includes supporting colleagues through coaching and reflective practice, developing community partnerships and leading interventions for children and young people at risk of exploitation, serious youth violence, anti-social behaviour and other vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work systemically with families and wider support networks.
  • Support children to remain safely within their family networks wherever possible.
  • Lead and coordinate multi-agency plans and interventions.
  • Develop and deliver group programmes and community-based activities.
  • Respond to emerging risks including exploitation, anti-social behaviour and serious youth violence.
  • Build strong partnerships with schools, community organisations and other agencies.
  • Support and coach colleagues, promoting high-quality practice.
  • Ensure children's voices are heard and central to decision-making.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and case recording.

About You

  • Significant experience working with children, young people and families.
  • Strong assessment, planning and intervention skills.
  • Experience of working with complex family situations and safeguarding concerns.
  • A commitment to trauma-informed, anti-racist and relationship-based practice.
  • The ability to build effective partnerships and influence positive change.
  • Experience of supporting or mentoring colleagues and promoting best practice.
