Children Social Worker Housing Post (for 16/17-year-olds) Level 2-3 – Children Services Social Work Directorate and Housing & Safer Communities Directorate

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with our young people (16/17-year-olds) in Housing and Children Services.

You will be working primarily with 16/17-year-olds and other young people to provide advice, support, and assistance to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and undertake child & family and joint assessments with 1st Base Team to determine duties under relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Work primarily with 16/17-year-olds in Housing and Children Services.
  • Provide advice, support and assistance to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  • Undertake child and family and joint assessments with 1st Base Team to determine duties under relevant legislation.
  • Collaborate with the Housing Inclusion Service and other teams to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach to service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Qualified and registered Social Worker.
  • At least 3 post-qualifying years of social work experience, especially in assessments with 16/17-olds and knowledge of Housing legislation.
  • Experience working with young people in housing and child protection contexts.
  • Strong understanding of relevant statutory frameworks and case planning.
