GLL (Better) is looking for an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Child & Family Practitioner to join our vibrant Children's Centre team, working across our centres in Kidbrooke and Eltham, as well as community venues nearby.
This role is based on working a 30 hour week, all year round.

About the Role
As a Child & Family Practitioner, you'll help create a safe, stimulating, educational and welcoming environment where children under five can learn, develop and flourish.
Working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, you'll support children's physical, social, emotional and intellectual development through engaging activities tailored to their individual needs and interests.
You'll work closely with colleagues, families and partner organisations to ensure Children's Centre services are accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for all local families.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Planning and delivering engaging Stay & Play sessions that inspire learning and development.
- Providing safe, creative and stimulating crÿche sessions for children whose parents are attending courses and programmes.
- Support our childcare settings when required.
- Supporting children's learning through play-based activities both indoors and outdoors.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with children and their families.
- Promoting children's development, confidence and independence.
- Supporting children with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and valuing every child's culture, language and background.
- Contributing to an inclusive, nurturing and diverse environment that promotes equal opportunities for all families.
- Ensuring safeguarding procedures and best practice standards are maintained at all times.
What We're Looking For
- NVQ Level 2, preferably Level 3 in Childcare/Child Development (or equivalent).
- Experience working with children under five years old and their families.
- Knowledge of the EYFS framework and evidence-based early years practice.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection responsibilities.
- Knowledge of Ofsted Children's Centre requirements and standards.
- Experience supporting children from diverse backgrounds, including children with additional needs and disabilities.
- A good understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive, proactive and child-centred approach.
