Contract: Part time 32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only 39 weeks, 1 Year Fixed term.

Salary Grade/Range: Scale 5 Full Time Equivalent £32,535 - £33,987 – Actual from £26,335, pay award pending. Required October 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Cover classes across the school from Reception to Year 6 during teachers’ PPA and release time.
  • Lead interventions and provide targeted support for pupils, including those with SEND.
  • Plan and teach lessons and develop enrichment opportunities in one of the following areas: PE, Music, Art & DT, French, Latin.
  • Deliver interventions and support pupils 1:1 or in small groups.
  • Contribute to high quality inclusive provision across the school.
  • When not covering classes, work closely with teachers and the SENDCo to deliver interventions.

Qualifications

  • GCSE level C or equivalent or higher in English and Maths.
  • Holds HLTA status or has relevant experience covering whole classes.
  • Experience working across the primary age range, including EYFS and KS1/KS2.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and well-structured learning activities.
  • Strong behaviour management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Passion for a curriculum area such as PE, Music, Art & DT, French or Latin.
  • Effective teamwork and communication with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to the wider life of the school.
  • Interest in making a personal contribution to the life of the school and to the welfare of pupils.
