Job Overview

Position: Deputy Nursery Manager (36‑hour permanent contract) at Vista Field Nursery, Vista Field Children’s Centre, London SE9.

Salary: £34,690 per annum; contract: permanent; hours: 36 hours per week, 8am‑6pm.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the nursery in line with the statutory framework and aim for Ofsted excellence.
  • Assist the Nursery Manager in implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), including planning and record‑keeping.
  • Deputise for the Nursery Manager in their absence.
  • Lead and inspire staff using the online childcare management software and provide guidance on its use.
  • Maintain the highest standards of care, learning and development for children aged 0‑4.
  • Support continuous improvement across all aspects of nursery provision.

What You Need

  • Level 3 childcare qualification or higher early years qualification.
  • At least four years’ experience post‑qualification in a managerial or senior leadership role.
  • Sound knowledge of SEND, Health & Safety, and Equalities and Diversity.
  • Good IT, literacy, numeracy, organisational and communication skills.
  • Active DBS certificate and two satisfactory childcare references.
  • A can‑do attitude and passion for early years education.
