Deputy Communications and Engagement Manager – focus on fly-tipping

£52,194 to £55,323

Fixed term two years / full-time

Location: The Woolwich Centre, The Birchmere Centre and some flexible home working

You’ll help us communicate and engage with residents and other stakeholders to deliver a high-profile campaign to tackle the scourge of fly-tipping. This will include naming and shaming offenders as well using behaviour change science to make it as easy as possible for people to do the right thing.

We need someone with excellent writing and planning skills to deliver creative and innovative targeted campaigns with clear objectives that are regularly evaluated. You’ll have led behaviour change campaigns and have experience managing external agencies.

You’ll need to write engaging content for a range of publications, channels and audiences, as well as managing the Council’s reputation through the press and social media. You’ll be confident creating and editing your own video content, working to deadlines and building trust with colleagues and political members.

Based in Woolwich, a short walk from the new Elizabeth line station, with some working from our Birchmere Centre too, the role will comprise a mix of office and some home working.
