Role Overview
As a content designer in the Product team for Digital, Operations and Access, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team designing new products and improving existing ones. You’ll work with council teams to improve service information, speak up for users, use data and research to shape products, and report to a senior content designer.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead content design for complex products and services, working user‑centred across multiple teams.
- Deliver services end‑to‑end from discovery to live in multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to content strategy for whole service transformation and product development.
- Develop and promote content standards, guidance and style patterns ensuring clarity, accessibility, help, inclusivity.
- Explain benefits of content design across the council and transfer skills where appropriate.
- Support and mentor junior team members, fostering high‑performing people.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in content design, ideally on multidisciplinary agile projects.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
- Strong understanding of user‑centred practices, able to explain complex concepts in plain language.
- Commitment to improving residents’ lives and opportunities.
- Experience in ownership, continuous improvement and collaboration across the council.
