Overview
The Critical Care team at Barnet Hospital is looking to appoint passionate, enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Band 6 Registered Nurses who hold a UK accredited critical care qualification, have experience mentoring junior staff and are ready to take on a more senior role within our 18-bed capacity critical care department.
This Band 6 opportunity will develop your leadership and management skills within our proactive multi-disciplinary team. You will be placed on the Band 6 development programme over a period of 9 months.
Programme Areas
- Enrolment on our in-house leadership programme which is accredited by Middlesex University and supports attendance at NHS Leadership Academy Courses in the future
- Support to attend an assessor’s course if you have not already obtained your qualification
- Attend Recruitment and Selection training and participate in interviews with a more senior staff member upon completion
- Enrollment onto ILS training
- Appraisal Training
- Allocated band 7 and senior band 6 mentors to support you while on the programme
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality, effective and individualised nursing care to a variety of patients in a compassionate and caring manner
- Assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate care without supervision while teaching junior staff
- Lead and monitor the performance of the nursing team by completing appraisals
- Deputise for the Senior Nurse as required
- Be a positive role model at all times
