We are advertising a 12-month fixed term Band 5 Health Promotion Support Officer role within the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Breast Screening Service. The post is based at Edgware Community Hospital and will occasionally work at St. Bartholomew\’s Hospital, City of London.

The role sits in a newly created team with a Band 7 Health Promotion Lead and a Band 3 Administration Officer. Applicants from nursing or administrative backgrounds are welcome.

The Royal Free Breast Screening Group comprises two clinical services: the Central and East London Breast Screening Service (CELBSS) and the North London Breast Screening Service (NLBSS). Both are part of the NHS Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) and serve a population of over 415,000 eligible women.

Responsibilities include encouraging and improving uptake within breast screening and reducing health inequalities. You will work across sites (NLBSS base at Edgware Community Hospital; CELBSS base at St. Bartholomew\’s Hospital) and focus on the NLBSS areas of Brent, Harrow, Barnet, Enfield, Haringey and West Hertfordshire and the CELBSS areas of Camden & Islington, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Hackney & The City of London. You will target lower uptake boroughs, ensure up-to-date breast screening data is available, and collaborate with a range of stakeholders to improve uptake and attendance while reducing health inequalities.
