An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Switchboard Operator to join our well-established, innovative, and friendly team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operate the trust switchboard efficiently, providing an effective operator service to all callers, both internal and external.
  2. Respond to all calls within the 6-second response time.
  3. Activate emergency procedures such as Cardiac Arrest, Fire, Security, and Trauma when required.
  4. Serve as the first point of contact for emergency incidents involving LAS, LFB, and SHA.
  5. Monitor and respond to alarms from the fire panel and critical alarm system, ensuring proper action is taken and details are communicated to relevant emergency services.
  6. Activate the trust\’s \’smells and bells\’ policy following the 10-minute timer.
  7. Contribute to the maintenance and testing of systems and equipment in the switchboard.
  8. Operate Aircalls and generate reports as needed.
  9. Log all emergency calls accurately.
  10. Maintain and update the switchboard database regularly.
  11. Prioritize irradiator alarm activations and coordinate immediate response.
  12. Complete daily doctor’s rota for distribution to A&E and other departments.
