An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Switchboard Operator to join our well-established, innovative, and friendly team.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the trust switchboard efficiently, providing an effective operator service to all callers, both internal and external.
- Respond to all calls within the 6-second response time.
- Activate emergency procedures such as Cardiac Arrest, Fire, Security, and Trauma when required.
- Serve as the first point of contact for emergency incidents involving LAS, LFB, and SHA.
- Monitor and respond to alarms from the fire panel and critical alarm system, ensuring proper action is taken and details are communicated to relevant emergency services.
- Activate the trust\’s \’smells and bells\’ policy following the 10-minute timer.
- Contribute to the maintenance and testing of systems and equipment in the switchboard.
- Operate Aircalls and generate reports as needed.
- Log all emergency calls accurately.
- Maintain and update the switchboard database regularly.
- Prioritize irradiator alarm activations and coordinate immediate response.
- Complete daily doctor’s rota for distribution to A&E and other departments.
