Overview
Central to this role is the accountability to diligently monitor and track patients on suspected cancer pathways through the Somerset and NBSS systems. Your role holds paramount importance in ensuring the pursuit of all necessary actions, their evaluation, and readiness for discussion during the weekly cancer PTL meetings. Working closely with the management team, you will emerge as a pivotal figure in resolving any hindrances along the pathway, promptly escalating challenges when required.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and track patients on suspected cancer pathways through the Somerset and NBSS systems; ensure actions are pursued, evaluated, and discussed at weekly cancer PTL meetings.
- Collaborate with the management team to resolve pathway impediments and escalate challenges as needed.
- Develop understanding of the 62-day national cancer waiting time targets, the 28-day expedited diagnostic standard, and the NHS Breast Screening Programme guidelines for PTL pathways.
- Facilitate the Effective Tracking of Patient Tracker Lists, adhere to deadlines for data submission, and actively participate in PTL review meetings to provide insights and present findings.
- Perform administrative functions linked to the North London Breast Screening Service; provide support services in line with Trust and NHS Breast Screening Programme guidelines and targets.
