Job overview

Prepare labels using the pharmacy computer system and correctlyassemble prescriptions, ensuring each item is accurately dispensed andin the correct packaging, according to standard operating procedures(SOP). Organise the timely supply of out of stock medication to patients,prioritise and delegate to other pharmacy team members whennecessary.Communicate any delays in supply to the appropriate person. Counsel patients on the use of their dispensed medications, offeringadvice and answering any queries.To provide information and advice to nursing and medical staff on allaspects of drug usage and availability.
Receive deliveries from suppliers and manufacturers.

We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking candidate with experience in pharmacy to join the Royal Free London Pharmacy family. You will need to be organised and well-motivated and have excellent communication and people skills, as well as the ability to adapt quickly to new situations. Education & Professional Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent

Experience

  • Experience of working in a hospital pharmacy ideally an outpatient setting
  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience of working in a community pharmacy setting
  • Experience working in an automated dispensary environment
  • Experience using prescription tracking system

Skills and Aptitudes

  • Intermediate or advanced computer skills
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Good verbal and written English
  • Knowledge of drug names and terms
