We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Administrator (previously known as Medical Secretary) to join our Breast & Plastic Surgery admin division.

You will:

  • Provide excellent customer care. Hospital visits can be stressful and daunting, so you will be a great communicator with strong customer service skills to put our patients at ease, treating them with tact and empathy.
  • Coordinate and organise the attendance of patients to outpatient, day case and theatre appointments.
  • Ensure all administrative processes and enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner.

About the Role

Typical tasks that you will complete are (this list is not exhaustive):

  • Providing administrative support to the clinical imaging team in the Breast Care Unit.
  • Reception cover.
  • Proof reading clinical letters (please note there is no audio typing in this role).
  • Monitoring waiting times, ensuring that our patients’ treatment pathways, from referral to treatment are accurate and up to date.
  • Booking appointments from waiting lists.
  • Setting up and updating clinics.
  • Liaising with other health services.
  • Assisting and supporting other members of the administrative team across the department or division, including dealing with telephone calls and resolving enquiries for patients, their carers and visitors.
  • Completing actions from MDT Meetings.
  • Completing any necessary admin tasks as required.

Working Pattern: 3 days per week (Mondays & Tuesdays are essential).
