We are seeking a motivated and reliable HSDU Technician to join our busy and dedicated Hospital Sterile Services Unit. As part of our skilled team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical devices are decontaminated, inspected, assembled, packaged, sterilised, and distributed to clinical areas safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where accuracy, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential. You will work 37.5 hours per week on a rotating early and late shift pattern, supporting the delivery of high-quality sterile services across the Trust.

About the Role

  • Decontamination, inspection, assembly, and packing of surgical instruments and medical devices
  • Operation of washer-disinfectors, sterilisers, and tracking systems
  • Ensuring all work complies with departmental procedures, quality standards, and HTM 01 01 guidance
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and traceability records
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to meet service demands and turnaround times
  • Supporting a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates clearly
  • Can follow strict procedures and quality standards
  • Is comfortable working in a technical, process-driven environment
  • Is willing to undertake training and development within the role

Previous experience in sterile services or a decontamination environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Working Pattern: Early Shift - Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:00, Late Shift - Monday - Friday 13:30 - 21:30, One weekend in Four 08:00 - 16:00
