Job responsibilities
About the Role
Every step we take in podiatry is about helping patients maintain independence, prevent foot complications and manage any foot problems when they do occur. As a Podiatry Assistant, youll be right at the heart of this, working closely with our podiatrists and patients across a variety of settings.
Youll play an active role in clinics, supporting with wound and ulcer care, preparing treatment rooms and ensuring everything runs smoothly. You will also run your own basic footcare clinics, providing nail care and foot health support, under podiatrist guidance. Youll also be out and about in the community, carrying out home visits and helping patients manage their foot health in their own surroundings.
Your day-to-day will be varied and rewarding, with responsibilities that may include:
- Assisting podiatrists in surgical and specialist clinics.
- Running basic footcare clinics and domiciliary visits.
- Supporting patients with dressings, self-care advice and education.
- Managing stock, clinic preparation and clinical administration.

A healthy work-life balance is essential, and Devon is a great place to enjoy it. There are opportunities for full-time (37.5hrs per week) or part-time permanent hours. The roles are mainly Eastern locality based. We have a flexible working policy that we are happy to discuss to establish suitable options for you and the department.
Working Pattern: One full time role (37.5 hours) and one 30 hour position available.
