Our Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs) form an essential and well-respected part of our healthcare team in the EDSKU (East Devon Satellite Kidney Unit β Honiton)
No previous experience or qualifications are required as full training will be given, just a desire to deliver excellent patient care with the support and guidance of your colleagues.
The role involves greeting the patients and assisting with weight and observations, making patients comfortable before and during their haemodialysis session, restocking the unit and gathering equipment needed to perform dialysis treatments, preparing machines for dialysis removing dialysis lines from the machines, cleaning machines and dialysis station between patients, occasionally involves assisting the patients with basic personal care, you will be taught safe removal and disposal of dialysis needles, making patient drinks and occasionally assist with nutrition as directed by the registered nurse.
The team Small team of Registered Nurses, Healthcare assistants and a Ward clerk delivering outpatient Haemodialysis in a small 8 bedded day unit
Our teams are caring, compassionate and inclusive, so whatever your background, you will be made to feel very welcome.
Working Pattern: You will need you to work a range of shift patterns, Monday to Friday Early shifts 7:30am-1:30pm and Late shift 4:30pm β 10:30pm (4x 6hr shifts per week)
Depending on your shift pattern and working hours, you may also receive additional enhancements to your pay.
