We’re looking for an experienced General Manager for The Royal Court Theatre Bar and Kitchen in Sloane Square. This is a key role, following a period of change in the Bar & Kitchen activities, with scope for a candidate to make a clear mark, leading both the commercial development of the business, and ensuring a high level of visitor experience for our audiences and visitors.
The role will also include overseeing and delivering regular events within our building for artists, supporters, press and media, and private hires. The ideal candidate will bring a positive, hands-on and entrepreneurial approach, with a track record of driving sales through being an exceptional operator in a venue that regularly has high volume periods.
You’ll be someone who can see the big picture, and understand that the experience of seeing a show doesn’t just start when the lights go up and end at curtain call – with scope to tailor the offer to improve guest experience and connect the Bar & Kitchen to the work on stage.
You will:
- Have significant proven experience in bar and/or F&B management, with a track record of event delivery and growing sales in a venue with high volume periods, including increasing spend per head.
- Be a people-focused leader who can inspire diverse teams as well as build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Have a strong understanding of business and financial management in this context, including experience of controlling all aspects of a Profit & Loss to maximise profit.
- Bring an entrepreneurial approach to identifying opportunities to drive sales and improve our offer – both long term and around different shows and programmes of activity.
To note, your application can also be sent through in the form of a voice note, or PowerPoint presentation (no more than five slides). Should there be a more accessible format for your application to be received, please contact us. Applications for this role will be assessed on a rolling basis, and the first stage of the process will consist of a screening call to discuss your experience. We reserve the right to close the role early.
