An exciting opportunity has arisen on our Renal unit at RCHT for a Band 5 registered Renal Dialysis Nurse to work within our renal dialysis team. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming, vibrant, and caring team dedicated to upholding the trust values whilst delivering excellent, holistic care and treatment for our patients. We are looking for a dedicated individual with a genuine interest in providing care for patients with renal failure to join our established and experienced team. Your role will include supporting the delivery of renal dialysis to those patients and a commitment to delivering patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job:

  • The Renal Unit strives for clinical excellence and strongly supports the progression of clinical skillsets to optimise patient outcomes.
  • We are developing a strong link nurse network with the aim of creating local experts within the team who can cascade knowledge and information to improve standards.
  • Renal experience is not necessary as full haemodialysis training will be given, with new staff being supported to gain the skills and competencies set out within a dedicated framework.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Degree or relevant experience; Post registration course in relevant speciality or working towards / willingness to undertake; Mentor qualification or working towards.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the professional and current issues in nursing; Understanding of audit and research methodologies; Knowledge and experience of acute dialysis patients.
  • Experience: Post registration experience in the speciality; Dialysis Experience; Experience of mentoring; Experience of assessing students.
