Responsibilities
- The Medical Day Unit is a busy Monday to Friday 11 spaced, planned clinic.
- Patients attend at planned timed appointments for specific treatments to manage long term illnesses.
- MDU is an increasingly growing nurse led clinic providing a service for all adult specilalty services, including biologic medicines , dynamic blood testing/investiagtions with minor interventions.
- Assess treat/discharge day case patients.
- Take charge of clinical area.
- Safely delegate tasks appropriately.
- Recognise/respond to emergency situations.
- Act as a role model/ mentor to junior staff/students.
- Communicate efficiently and openly with colleagues, consultants, patients and family members.
- Adhere to IPAC compliance escalting concerns appropriately.
