St Mawes is a 32-bedded surgical ward that cares for patients undergoing emergency or elective surgery both pre and post-operatively. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse to join our well-established team. An often busy ward, working as part of a team is critical. We have a dynamic and forward-thinking multidisciplinary team that you will be an active member of.
You will be expected to lead the team, provide clinical support, guidance and supervision on a daily basis. You will be given training opportunities to build your surgical knowledge and skills.
This role has been approved for advertising; however, it is also being assessed as a suitable alternative employment opportunity. As a result, the vacancy may be withdrawn or there may be a delay before shortlisting can begin. This role is open to all applicants. Main duties of the job:
- To work as a skilled member of the nursing team, to provide a high standard of holistic patient centred care.
- Ability to promote patient centred care and establish good relationships with patients and carers.
- To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
- To work collaboratively with recovery and the surgical wards to promote excellent patient care.
- To be a highly competent, knowledgeable and visible practitioner setting the highest standards of care and ensuring the provision of appropriate, evidence-based care for all patients/clients.
- To work with colleagues across the organisation to deliver the ambitions of the Trust's Strategic Plan.
