An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated person to provide efficient administration and clerical support to the Bowel Cancer Screening Service within Cornwall. It is important that you are enthusiastic, motivated and able to work with competing demands on your time. Previous NHS administrative experience is essential, and ideally you will have knowledge of waiting list management and access targets.

Main duties of the job:

  • The Administrative Support Officer is an integral role within the Cornwall Bowel Cancer Screening team.
  • The team is responsible for arranging and undertaking diagnostic tests for patients that have had a positive bowel cancer screening test across Cornwall.
  • The post holder is required to provide efficient and responsive administrative and clerical support in accordance with national, Trust and departmental guidelines, policies and procedures; directing enquiries and managing the patient pathway from referral to results using specialist software and hospital systems.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: GCSE in English and Maths grade 9 to 4 (A* to C) or equivalent.
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in administration.
