We are looking for an experienced Acute Medicine/Eldercare Occupational Therapist to lead our West Cornwall Hospital Occupational Therapy Team, working alongside the Team Lead Physiotherapist and nursing colleagues. If you have skills in assessment and discharge planning for complex patients, this could be the role for you.
The Occupational Therapy service at West Cornwall Hospital comprises a Band 6 (currently on maternity leave, backfill being advertised), a Band 5 rotational post, and a Band 4 OT Support Worker. Operational supervision for the Band 7 Team Lead is provided by the Therapy Lead for Acute services, and the Professional Lead Occupational Therapists are available for professional advice and support. This is a fixed term/secondment post for 12 months.
Main duties of the job:
- To provide a high standard Occupational therapy service.
- To maintain an agreed case load within the clinical specialism, performing advanced assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations.
- To formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, as an autonomous practitioner.
- To undertake line manager duties for the team.
- To be instrumental in the ongoing development of services and practices that provide high quality care and interventions.
