The Neonatal unit in Truro Cornwall are looking for a bright and friendly person to join our team of ward clerks. Previous clerical experience in the health service would be desirable. You should be organized and well‑motivated person with a mature and flexible approach to your work. The post involves contact with the children and their families, so good communication skills are vital.

Main duties of the job:

  • Provide administrative support to the ward based clinical staff.
  • Contribute to the effective running of the ward by concentrating on tasks which directly support administration systems and procedures.
  • Provide a reception service on the ward welcoming patients, visitors and staff and dealing with queries both internally and externally with the organization.
  • Ensure that the quality of data being managed and processed is of a high standard.
  • To support the Senior Nursing Staff with administrative duties.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: NVQ in Administration / customer service / IHRIM Cert of Technical Competence
  • Experience: Previous Experience working in a clerical position with the general public, Clerical experience within the NHS, Knowledge of NHS / RCHT administrative systems
  • Skills and disposition: Effective communicator, experience problem solver, can prioritise workload under pressure
