We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Dietitian to lead the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Dietetic Team at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. This role includes dedicated time to improving patient contact and pathways for individuals within the eating disorder and complex mental health cohort. We are an ambitious, forward‑thinking dietetic department committed to collaboration, professional growth, and delivering high-quality, patient‑centred care. Our department thrives on shared learning and continuous improvement, supported by quarterly county‑wide CPD sessions aligned with the four pillars of practice. Main Duties

  • Lead and support the development of dietitians within this specialty, promoting the measurement and evaluation of clinical practice through evidence‑based practice, research, and audit, and use findings to lead on improvement strategies.
  • Act as an expert resource, providing high‑quality teaching and training to students and healthcare professionals within your area of expertise.
  • Ensure high‑quality, compassionate, and effective care.

Person Specification

  • Degree or Post Graduate Qualification in Dietetics/Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Evidence of further formal study e.g. Postgraduate qualifications, (Postgraduate certificate/Diploma, Masters modules, or equivalent management qualification IELTS unless qualification in English
  • Membership of relevant professional body (BDA)
  • Membership of relevant specific interest groups
  • Highly developed clinical skills in nutrition support
  • Comprehensive experience within relevant clinical specialties including inpatients and outpatient settings
  • Ability to demonstrate highly developed leadership skills
  • Proven experience of managing a service or change process
  • Experience of leading and managing teams
  • Able to work and lead under externally applied pressures e.g. deadlines, competing demands and priorities
  • Highly developed skills in managing staff, including managing challenging behaviours, emotive situations, (e.g. Attendance management, grief, illness, etc.)
